Product Information
GLP-1 is a next-generation multi-agonist peptide studied for its activity across GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptors. The compound in this vial starts from the amino-acid sequence of GIP, a natural gut hormone, and is then modified in several places.
Two positions carry Aib (alpha-aminoisobutyric acid), an amino acid not found in natural proteins. The Aib at position 2 helps the peptide resist cleavage by the enzyme DPP-4, which rapidly breaks down the native hormones. A third non-standard residue, alpha-methyl-L-leucine at position 13, contributes to its GIP and glucagon receptor activity. A fatty-acid chain attached at lysine 17 completes the structure.
Together these changes give one peptide that acts on GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors. This compound is an investigational compound from Eli Lilly without FDA approval; this vial is research material only.
